: All I want for Christmas is a Trojan Virus
Sunday, December 26 2004

This year the internet gave me a trojan virus for christmas. Oh but it's not just any trojan. It disables autoprotect in my norton antivirus and leaves me open to malicious threats. I thought I solved the problem but I guess not. I really really hate everyone that makes this crap.

ANYWAYS the meat of this post is about MrBot. Here's what has happened so far. This scientist/mechanic created a robot known as Home Droid 2.1. He was called by someone to get the correct AI for said robot. The robot was activated and he decided to leave the house so he wouldn't lose his "brain." The kid follows him around because...well he thinks robots are cool and he doesn't want to be alone. Now known as "Mister Bot," the robot decides to hide out at the kid's mother's house. He seems to have a vague idea that the father wouldn't go there. They stumble upon a mall where he aquires a new shirt, leaving his beeping chest plate in the mall somewhere. Now, enter strip #10. I'm constantly improving the way in which I do this strip so hopefully you'll notice the difference this week.

Oh yeah, tremble at the might of the new larger link to the current comic since some idiots just couldn't find the thing.

: I MADE IT!
Sunday, December 19 2004

Phew, with about 50 minutes to spare, I managed to get the new strip up before Sunday was over (eastern time). I didn't get home until 4:30 am this morning so I wasn't about to finish it then. Then I got out of work a little after 9:30 and the snowy/icey road happens to impede (sp?) my driving route TWICE. I literally stopped while going up a really big hill. People in the house next to me were standing up against the window like I was a goldfish hiding in one of those little fish tank castles. I would have probably enjoyed seeing some guy struggle to survive on a steep hill as he slowly coasts against my curb too.

Anyways, the new comic is up and I'll just go ahead and apologize for last week's introduction to Ninja Kitty. You may have found it funny, you may not have. The IDEA was good in my opinion, but the haphazard execution was not. I tend to get a lot of ideas while driving since I'm usually busy other times. I've had about 5 driving punch line ideas for strips that were all scrapped because they have no merit unless you're reading the comic on your laptop while driving at least 70 mph on the highway in light traffic. Such a thing is not advised but it is encouraged.

READ THE COMIC!

: Lots of final projects = no comic this week
Sunday, December 12 2004

Sorry but I missed yet another update. Ok so it's only 2 now but I still feel a little bad. Right now I'm squeezing in this update before going to work and I probably won't have much time to eat anything.

However, despite being overloaded with gobs of homework and projects, I did manage to overwork myself a little in the beginning of the week and found a little time to get some stuff done. I whipped up a really fast "Ninja Kitty" strip that has been sitting in my "MrBot book" for a few weeks now. It's nothing special but it's something and you got it! Sure I could have made a really quick MrBot strip but I've got a story going on and I'd rather put the time into each one to ensure some quality. Here's that kitty:

Now I DID actually start doing the strip for the week, but it turned out kind of junky. I ended up doing some character development just to assure myself I could actually draw.

This is probably one of the better drawings of MrBot I've done and believe me, I've done a LOT. I think Fad needs some real definitive features outside of the "hat area" and his LA Lights sneakers. Also I think his height has fluctuated from 2 to 5 feet. By comparison MrBot is about 6 and a half feet tall. Making Fad TOO short would result in less close ups for conversations in order to fit the little guy in the frame. I'll definately have an update next week since my classes end this Thursday! Wooooooo!

Just a quick update since this particular strip took so long to finish. Things to note are the fact that I will finally be writing an actual article within the coming month as one of those "best of the year" type dealies. However, this one won't be about what I believe to be the best, it's what I personally THINK is the best. There's a difference, trust me. Also there may be other contributors in the near future as well. With that said, get to voting..err I mean please enjoy the comic!
